Rockin' Pneumonia & the Boogie Woogie Flu Single: Huey "Piano" Smith Released: August 1957 Genre: Rock and roll Songwriters: Johnny Vincent, Huey Smith Huey Pierce Smith, known as Huey "Piano" Smith , was influential in the development of rock and roll. His piano playing combined boogie-woogie and jazz with rhythm and blues. In 1957, he released "Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu." The song peaked in the US at Number 5 on the Most Played R&B by Jockeys and Number 52 on Billboard's Hot 100. It's sold over one million copies and numbers among the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock & Roll.

Sails ,” is a Bahamian folk song from Nassau. It was first transcribed by Richard Le Gallienne in the December 1916 issue of Harper’s Monthly Magazine ( pages 81–90 ).    Carl Sandburg included a version in his 1927 collection of folksongs, The American Songbag .  The lyrics describe a disastrous voyage on a sloop, and the narrator just wants to go home. Since the early 1950s, recordings were made by various artists with different titles, including “I Want to Go Home” and “Wreck of the John B.” The Beach Boys ’  cover, named “Sloop John B,” was ranked Number 276 on Rolling Stone’s 2004 list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

It's Raining, Men Single: Weather Girls Album: Success Released: September 10, 1982 Genre: Hi-NRG, post-disco, synthpop Songwriters: Paul Jabara, Paul Shaffer "It's Raining Men" is by the musical duo of Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes under the group name, The Weather Girls . It was a number-one dance hit in the United States and reached the top ten in various countries worldwide.  In 1983, the 26th Annual Grammy Awards nominated the track for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. VH1 voted it number 36 of the 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 1980s. They rank the tune number 55 of the 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of All Time.

They're number 2 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" list, behind Led Zeppelin . Rolling Stone magazine  counts  Sabbath as  number 85 of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time." A 2011 Rolling Stone reader's poll voted the band  number 3  of the "Top 10 Metal Bands of All Time."  Two of their songs, "Paranoid" and "Iron Man," are on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's " 500 Songs that Shaped Rock & Roll ."

Genres: Psychedelic rock, acid rock,  folk rock, garage rock  Jefferson Airplane pioneered psychedelic rock, defined the San Francisco Sound, and achieved international success during the " Summer of Love ." Their 1967 break-out album,  Surrealistic Pillow , is ranked Number 471  in Rolling Stones' 2020 list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time." Two tracks from that album were included in Rolling Stone's 2004 ranking of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time:" "Somebody to Love" at Number 279 and "White Rabbit" at  Number 483 . The same pair are among the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's " 500 Songs that Shaped Rock & Roll ."
